The illustration is based on Damon Knight's story "The Country of the Kind". This was also one of the earliest works of Sci-Fi
that I read. It remains today, one of my all-time favorite short stories and it was a great honour to be asked to do this
piece to commemorate Mr. Knight's incredible contributions to the genre .
